Tournament Formats

Four Teams:

  • One pool, round robin (three games)

  • Round robin determines gold, silver, bronze

Five Teams:

  • One pool, round robin (four games)

  • Round robin determines gold, silver, bronze

Six Teams:

  • Two pools of three teams, round robin (each team plays two games)

    • Winner of Friday evening game plays third team Saturday afternoon

    • Loser of Friday evening game plays third team Saturday morning

    • Tie in Friday evening game treats Home team as Winner

  • Winner of each pool plays for gold

  • Second place in each pool plays for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Winner of each pool plays second place in other pool in a semi final

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Winners of semi-finals play for gold; losers play for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Third place teams in each pool play 5/6 game

Eight Teams:

  • Two pools of four teams, round robin (each team plays three games)

  • Winner of each pool plays for gold

  • Second place teams in each pool play for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Third place teams in each pool play 5/6 game

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Fourth place teams in each pool play 7/8 game

Nine Teams:

  • Three pools of three teams, round robin (each team plays two games)

    • Winner of Friday evening game plays third team Saturday afternoon

    • Loser of Friday evening game plays third team Saturday morning

    • Tie in Friday evening game treats Home team as Winner

  • Winner of each pool advances to semi-finals

  • Top-ranked second place team (after tie-breaking rules applied) advances to semi finals

    • NOTE:  two teams from the same pool will not play each other again in the semi finals

  • Winners of semi-finals play for gold; losers play for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Lowest ranked and second-lowest ranked third place teams play 8/9 game

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Highest ranked third place team plays winner of 8/9 game in 7/8 game

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Lowest ranked and second-lowest ranked second place teams play in 5/6 game

Ten Teams:

  • Two pools of three teams, one pool of four

  • From the pool of four:

    • First and second place play in opposite semi finals

    • Third place plays in 7/8 game

    • Fourth place plays in 9/10 game

  • From the pools of three:

    • Top team in each will play in semi finals

    • The two second place teams will play each other in 5/6 game

    • The top third place finisher will play in 7/8 game

    • The bottom third place finisher will play in 9/10 game

Twelve Teams:

  • Four pools of three teams, round robin (each team plays two games)

  • Winner of each pool advances to semi-finals

  • Winners of semi-finals play for gold; losers play for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Third place teams:  two lowest ranked play in 11/12 game; two highest ranked play in 9/10 game

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Second place teams:  two lowest ranked play in 7/8 game; two highest ranked play in 5/6 game

Sixteen Teams:

  • Four pools of four teams, round robin (each team plays three games)

  • Winner of each pool advances to semi-finals

  • Winners of semi-finals play for gold; losers play for bronze

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Fourth place teams:  two lowest ranked play in 15/16 game; two highest ranked play in 13/14 game 

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Third place teams:  two lowest ranked play in 11/12 game; two highest ranked play in 9/10 game

  • YOUTH ONLY:  Second place teams:  two lowest ranked play in 7/8 game; two highest ranked play in 5/6 game
